Sea Turtle Conservation program

This experience will give you the opportunity to join a real marine research Team and contribute to global marine conservation, also the experience of living on an organic farm exploring the biodiversity of Costa Rica.

On the first part of the expedition, you will be working as a research assistant in KUEMAR Reserve on the Pacific coast and at Pacuare on Caribbean coast of Costa Rica working directly with a scientist in the NOA’s marine research projects: Ecology, Conservation and Threats to the Leatherback sea turtle: new strategies against Global Warming, Effects of Climate Change on Leatherback nesting habitat.

The second part of the expedition you'll be based on an organic farm where you'll learn about permaculture, horticulture, land re-vegetation, native seed preservation and biodinamics. Yet another project that will take part in is a mammal monitoring program inside the National Park, close to the organic farm.

At the end of the expedition, you'll have the chance to compare results from different environments as well as analyze all data and create your own research report, with the supervision of your biologist guide.

Environmental education to local schools and to the local community are also part of the experience. You'll have the chance to create your own lesson and to share with another culture your knowledge and passion for conservation.

I hope This unique experience will give you the opportunity to gain research ideas and to share unforgettable moments with people from different cultures.
