Whale and dolphin ecology program

This expedition would be focus on taking part of different projects in Drake Bay, Corcovado National Park. NOA works with Costa Cetacea.

The main focuses are to gain an understanding

of the current state of key coastal environmental resources

and to study the ecology and ethology of the marine

mammals that live offshore the Osa península,

in the Corcovado National Park.

During this expedition, you will take part of the following projects in Drake Bay: marine mammal ethology monitoring programriver/streams biomonitoring and

environmental education. In this expedition you will navigate

by boat with our marine biologists through the beautiful Pacific Ocean

to just offshore of Drake Bay, there you will monitor the whales and

dolphins species encountered while observing the stunning views

of the tropical Caño island. There will be afternoon lectures on topics

such as cetaceans (biology, ecology and conservation)

wildlife photography and shark conservation.

It will also be possible to get a PADI Skin Diving course qualification, while on board, taught by our professional qualified staff. You will learn free diving techniques

and be able to submerge in the crystal clear turquoise waters

of the Pacific coast.

Environmental education in local schools and to the local

community are also part of the experience. You'll have the chance

to create your own lesson and to share with another culture
