Local communities

NOA believes that providing environmental education and permaculture practices to local students is crucial step to protect the future of the biodiversity hotspots in Costa Rica.

NOA gives the opportunity to local students from Costa Rica to see a giant female Leatherback turtle or a beautiful humpback whale and to get involved themselves in a real marine conservation project.Local communities are impacted by environmental degradation that affects the rich biodiversity of their beautiful country as well as their health.

NOA believes that local residents can play an active role themselves in conservation and in the creation of solutions for the future generations.

NOA teaches experiential education to the students that join an expedition with an aim to create environmental awareness, to increase scientific knowledge and inspire conservational interest in nature.

NOA also promotes best permaculture and sustainable living practices to inspire individuals to think about sustainable living and a more natural approach to promoting their own health and well being.
